Three cheers for Hartford Public High School who celebrated 80+ of their students on September 23, 2025, who completed high-quality, paid internships this past summer and school year. Peers, business and community partners, and educators were happy to gather to celebrate this success.
Internship experiences help students develop a vision for their future. Among many goals, ReadyCT strives to ensure each intern leaves their internship with a glimpse into the work world, together with a sense of accomplishment.
Opening remarks were delivered by Dan Williamson, Career Pathway Program Manager, ReadyCT; Dr. Albert Sackey, Asst. Superintendent of Teaching & Learning, HPS; and Ted Gawlicki, Gawlicki Family Foundation.
Reflections were shared by Interns, Vincent Mozzicato, (CT Department of Transportation) and Makayla Fletcher, (Hartford HealthCare & OPMAD), then Employers, Justin Riley, Connecticut Science Center, Caren Backus, Har-Conn, Genny Heffernan, Hartford HealthCare, and Ashley Hernandez, Hispanic Health Council.
Certificates were then given to the more than 80 students who interned.
ReadyCT is grateful for its pivotal partnership with the Gawlicki Family Foundation -- a key to the success of the internship program. Thanks, too, to Hartford HealthCare and Raytheon Technologies for their ongoing career pathway program support.
Finally, the ReadyCT team would like to thank Hartford Public High School teachers and administrators together with all participating employers who make these life-changing internship experiences possible. Along the way, interns reach work-based learning milestones that will form the foundation for future success.
